Toyota Recalls 100,000 Vehicles Over Risk of Stalled Engines

Toyota Recalls Vehicles. Toyota has recalled over 100,000 vehicles due to concerns about stalled engines. The risk is caused by debris left in the engine during manufacturing, which could cause engines to lose power while driving. The recall affects Toyota Tundra pickups and Lexus LX SUVs with model years 2022 and 2023. The NHTSA documents explain that the engine may not have had machining debris cleared during assembly.

The vehicles that have been recalled are gas-powered models equipped with the V35A engines and not include the hybrid versions of the vehicle. Even with engine failures, hybrid versions will still have some power for limited distances.

Toyota has not yet confirmed a remedy for this issue. The owners are expected to be notified by the end of July. Several experts have mentioned that remedy process is going to be a longer. Once Toyota figures out the solution, owners will be asked to take the vehicle to dealers for repairs. During this time, both Lexus and Toyota owners can request a loaner vehicle for $55 per day. Owners can also contact NHTSA with any questions they may have.
